ORIGAMI
The ART of PAPER FOLDING!

Use up any old paper like gift wrap,newsprint, etc to make this star ornament for yourself and your friends
Here's
what
you
will need:

Paper,
Pen,
Scissors,
Ruler,
åGlue or Tape

For a small star, you will need a piece of paper at least 4 inches square

For a large star, you will need a piece of paper that is at least 8 inches square

ORIGAMI
Originates from Japan!

Most Japanese children learn how to fold ORIGAMI when they are very young. There are so may origami designs you can make! Maybe you could get a book at the library, bookstore,or search for Origami websites and find more things to make!

If you are planning to make many squares you
might want to glue the template to some cardboard, for instance the back of a note pad, or a cereal box. It's fun to think of new ways to reuse!!

1.
Cut out the SQUARE template for the ornament you want to make.

2.
Place the template on top of the paper and trace around it.

3.
Cut the square out of the paper.

4.
Follow the folding directions to fold the STAR

5.
You may glue it if you like-although traditional ORIGAMI is not usually glued

6.
Add a string and/or hook if you want to hang it as an ornament!
